Fiat has purchased the remaining stake in Chrysler to become the sole owner of the US car firm. In a deal worth £2.2billion, the Italian company bought the remaining 41.46% of Chrysler from the VEBA Trust (Voluntary Employee Beneficiary Association) made up of current and former Chrysler employees. Carlos Ghosn – head of Nissan – is convinced that electric cars will account for 10% of the market by 2020. Which is a huge leap from where they are now. We’re not convinced he’s right, although if you include what by then should be viable hydrogen fuel cell cars then he may be getting close.
Unlike the previous generation which only came with a V-6 engine, the redesigned Equinox comes with a base 2.4-liter direct injected four-cylinder engine. Customers can get a V-6 option. The new body style reflects Chevrolet's global design language influenced by the Malibu sedan and Traverse crossover.
